William Heinemann was an English literary publisher born in Surbiton, Surrey, England on May 18th, 1863. He was the founder of the Heinemann publishing house, established in 1890 and based out of Covent Garden in London. One of the most well-known works published under Heinemann's company was the 1898 H.G. Wells novel War of the Worlds.
