Lah'mu[]

Lah'mu 002

Lah'mu was a rather barren world. It was an agrarian planet with several silica-based planetary rings. It was noted for its black sand beaches, mountains, plateaus, and fertile lowlands. Other natural phenomena included geysers and volcanoes. The planet's crust, split numerous times during its early geographic life, was fertile and rich with minerals and soils brought to the surface during this turbulent period. In 13 BBY, a revolutionary named Saw Gerrera helped an Imperial defector named Galen Erso and his family find sanctuary on the remote planet of Lah'mu. The world was bleak, but serene, and Galen took up farming. The Imperials managed to track him down however, and advanced on the Erso homestead. Galen's wife, Lyra Erso, contacted Saw Gerrera, who then came to help. Galen was taken in by the Imperials, and Lyra was killed. Saw took charge over their young daughter, Jyn Erso.

Lahsbane[]

Lahsbane

Lahsbane was a terrestrial world located and the prime planet of the Lahsbane system in the Onatos Sector of the Mid Rim. Its topography consisted of dense forests and rolling canyons. The most notable landmark on Lahsbane is the Forbidden City, which included a large, golden tower with high steps and ceilings, designed to accomadate the mature Lahsbees, who evolve into Huhks. Landspeeder[]

Landspeeders are terrestrial conveyances that use repulsorlift technology for propulsion and vertical take off. Most landspeeders have a maximum air-lift ceiling of two meters and could reach speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour. The average landspeeder is between three to eight meters in length and can carry up to four passengers including the pilot. There are several different models of landspeeder that have been put into production over the years. At the time of the Galactic Civil War, the XP-38 proved to be one of the more popular models of landspeeder. Although speeders are almost never designed with offensive capabilities, some models have been put into production to serve more militaristic requirements. The 008 Heavy Landspeeder for example, developed by Trask Industries, was used by the Galactic Empire in the early years of the Galactic Civil War. The 008 was equipped with a dual laser cannon mounted on the front with ancillary rear-mounted armaments that required a separate gunner. One of the more well-known landspeeder manufacturers was the SoroSuub Corporation, who developed the X-34 landspeeder as well as the more popular XP-38.

Lars moisture farm[]

The Lars moisture farm was located in the Great Chott Salt Flat on Tatooine. It was originally owned by Cliegg Lars and his family. Following the death of his first wife, Cliegg bought the slave Shmi Skywalker and granted her freedom. He married Shmi and she came to live with him on the moisture farm. Following the passing of Cliegg, ownership of the farm went to his son, Owen Lars, who married a woman named Beru Whitesun. In 19 BBY, Owen and Beru were visited by Obi-Wan Kenobi who gave him Shmi's infant grandson, Luke Skywalker - the son of Sith Lord, Darth Vader. Owen and Beru raised Luke, but were careful not to tell him the truth about his father. Shortly before the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Empire sent Zeta Squadron to Tatooine in search of two droids that were in possession of information that was vital to them. Having tracked the droids to the Lars homestead, they incinerated the aging couple, leaving scorch marks from the attack on the walls of their home. Luke then inherited the property following their deaths.

To earn extra money, her sisters and she began working as spies for a corrupt Ongree politician named Acros-Krik. It was in this capacity that Lela discovered Coruscant's night life. Lela, Mya and Yma were all visitors of the Outlander Club in the Uscru Entertainment District on the day that Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker captured the shape-changing assassin known as Zam Wesell. In 19 BBY, shortly following the end of the Clone Wars, the Nalle sisters spotted a Jedi padawan named Drake Lo'gaan gambling in the Uscru District. Recognizing that he was underage, they reported him to the local Imperial Stormtroopers. Lela later married and took on the full name Lela Nalle Mayn. Her husband and she had a daughter named Todra Mayn who would one day serve as a starfighter pilot in the New Republic.

Other Lethan Twi'leks of note include Kelad'den, warrior of the Anti-Republic Liberation Front following the New Sith Wars, Zhar Lestin, a Lethan Jedi Master and member of the Dantooine Enclave Council during the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War, and Shakka, a slave owned by the Anx trader Graxol Kelvynn in 32 BBY.

The governor of Dodz was a greedy alien named Kugg who demanded exorbitant increases in taxes from his constituents. When Kemp refused to pay, Kugg sent his super-droid "The Destroyer" to take care of him. The Destroyer demolished Kemp's home, but the miner was able to escape the robot and leave the planet. A young boy named Jost Ellon began living in the ruins of Kemp's workshop.

Low Altitude Assault Transport[]

The Low Altitude Assault Transport, or LAATs, were installed with inertial compensators, which allowed troops the ability to stand stationary in the open transport bays even under harsh environmental or combat conditions. The LAAT series of combat aircraft was used by Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. They were first deployed during the Battle of Geonosis to transport clone trooper units to the planet's surface and provide air support to the Jedi commanders leading the charge.

Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry[]

The Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry was a heavily armored gunship developed by Rothana Heavy Engineering, a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards. The LAAT/i was one of several such classes of vehicle in the LAAT series and is known for its versatility, speed and maneuverability. Each ship was 17.4 meters long with a wingspan of 17 meters. Maximum speed was 650 kph, which could be sustained for a period of 8 hours without refueling.

It performed a variety of functions including providing troop transport to battle zones. The passenger compartment could house thirty troopers and also contained a vehicle bay that could fit four military-issue speeder bikes. The cockpit fitted one pilot and a co-pilot who could also act as a secondary gunner. If required, the cockpit could jettison itself from the main body of the ship and be used as an escape pod.

The LAAT/i performed a series of secondary functions as well and could be deployed on search and rescue missions, reconaissance missions, fire support and low-altitude combat.

Lyra Erso[]

Lyra Erso 002

Lyra Erso was a human female and the wife of Galen Erso. They had a daughter named Jyn Erso, who was born one year after the onset of the Clone Wars. Galen Erso was a scientist employed by the First Galactic Empire, whereas Lyra was a geologist who specialized in the study of Khyber crystals - a very valuable mineral. Galen defected from the Empire and fled with his family. With the help of a revolutionary named Saw Gerrera they set up a homestead on the remote Outer Rim world of Lah'mu where they eked out a life as farmers. They remained safe for nearly four years. When Jyn was only eight-years-old, Imperial military director Orson Krennic tracked the Ersos down. While Galen intercepted Krennic and his squadron of Death Troopers outside, Lyra remained in doors to send off an emergency message to Saw Gerrera. She then had Jyn run and hide. As Galen spoke with Krennic, he told him that his wife had died, but Krennic didn't believe him and ordered his men to search their house. Lyra emerged, holding a blaster, and pointed it at Krennic. She defiantly told him, "You'll never win", at which point Krennic ordered his troops to shoot her down.
