The Sidri are a fictional alien race featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and are generally associated with the X-Men family of comic book titles. They first appeared in Uncanny X-Men, Volume 1 #154 in February, 1982.

Description[]

The Sidri are an extraterrestrial race with insectoid physical characteristics. They are hairless with six legs and a tough durable carapace covering their bodies, which enables them to survive the rigors of outer space unimpeded. In addition to being extremely durable to both pressure and temperature, they can also project deadly blasts of energy. Sidri hunters possess bio-fission and can merge the physical matter to form a single, giant entity. In this regard, they are similar to the Plastoid drones that once caused trouble for the Fantastic Four. [1]

History[]

A Sidri hunting party came to Earth where they invaded New York City. Although the X-Men managed to fight them off with some help from the Starjammers, their headquarters at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters was completely leveled. [2] Even after it was rebuilt, three Sidri hunters remained behind, but they two were defeated by the New Mutant known as Kitty Pryde. Kitty's success in combating the Sidri is what convinced Professor Xavier to give her a spot on the X-Men. [3]
