Robert Gordon was an American film and television director born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 21st, 1913. He started out as a child actor during the silent film era, appearing in a string of movies under the name Bob Gordon.

Robert Gordon made his directorial debut with the 1947 film noir movie Blind Spot starring Chester Morris and Constance Dowling. In 1955, Gordon directed the sci-fi/adventure classic It Came from Beneath the Sea, which proved to be his only venture into the genre of science fiction.

Robert Gordon passed away in Los Angeles, California on December 1st, 1990 at the age of 77.

  • Robert Gordon has directed several television episodes. He directed eight episodes of My Friend Flicka from 1955-1956. He directed six episodes of Zane Grey Theater in 1958. He directed eight episodes of The Texan in 1959 and he directed four episodes of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis from 1960-1961. His other television credits include episodes of Bold Venture, Maverick and Bonanza.
