The Revenge of Frankenstein is a British horror film of the Victorian Gothic Horror genre, with an emphasis on scientific achievement and the folly of ambition. It was directed by Terence Fisher with a script written by Jimmy Sangster. It was produced by Hammer Film Productions and is their second movie in the Frankenstein series under the company's "Hammer Horror" brand. The movie was distributed through Columbia Pictures and premiered in the United States on June 1st, 1958. It premiered in the United Kingdom on August 27th, 1958. The Revenge of Frankenstein stars Peter Cushing as the eponymous Doctor Victor Frankenstein, who is calling himself by the extremely un-clever alias, Victor Stein. Having escaped from prison, Doc Stein is back to his ole monster-making ways in a pauper's hospital, complete with a hunchback servant and everything!
