Rebirth of Mothra (モスラ) is a Japanese science fiction/adventure film of the daikaiju genre. It is part of the greater Godzilla film series, but takes place within its own continuity, as the first installment of a three-part trilogy. The movie was directed by Okihiro Yoneda with a screenplay written by Masumi Suetani. It was produced by Toho Company, Ltd. and premiered in Japan on December 14th, 1996.

- Mosura, aka Mothra, was created by Tomoyuki Tanaka. She first appeared in her own feature film, Mothra, produced by Toho Pictures in 1961.

- There are a total of nine credited cast members in this film.
- One of the taglines for this film is "She's Mothra. She's back. And she's mad". Interestingly, it is one of the few times that a kaiju monster is assigned a female gender.
