Northamponshire is a landlocked ceremonial county located in the southern part of the East Midlands region of England, which is sometimes known as the South Midlands. The county contains the watershed between the River Severn and The Wash while several important rivers have their sources in the north-west of the county, including the River Nene, which flows north-eastwards to The Wash, and the "Warwickshire Avon", which flows south-west to the Severn.
Northamptonshire is the birth place of actor Matthew Robert Smith (generally credited as just Matt Smith), who was born on October 28th, 1982. Matt first distinguished himself by playing Danny Foster on the BBC 2 drama series Party Animals. He then went on to portray the eleventh iteration of the time-traveling Doctor in the relaunch of the popular sci-fi series Doctor Who.
