Niki Sanders is a fictional evolved human featured on the NBC television series Heroes. She was played by actress Ali Larter and was introduced in the pilot episode of the series, "Genesis". Niki made thirty-two appearances in the series in total and was killed off in the season two episode, "Powerless".
Overview[]
Niki Sanders was an evolved human. However, unlike other such "heroes" of her era, Niki's abilities were genetically forced upon her by Doctor Jonas Zimmerman at birth. She developed the power of superhuman strength. Niki was one of three triplets, which also included Tracy Strauss and Barbara Strauss. She grew up in an adoptive family where she was given the surname Sanders and had a younger adoptive sister named Jessica. As an adult, Niki was involved with Daniel Lawrence "D.L." Hawkins and had a son by him, who was named Micah.
Abilities[]
- Superhuman strength: Niki Sanders possessed superhuman strength, but could only access while she was in her more aggressive persona of Jessica. She first demonstrated this ability when Daniel Linderman sent some of his hired goons to Niki's home to muscle her for stolen money. The Jessica persona emerged and literally tore Linderman's men to pieces. Niki awakened the next morning and found the bloody body parts strewn about her room. [1]

- The character of Niki Sanders was created by director David Semel and writer/producer Tim Kring.
- Actress Ali Larter also played the role of Niki's triplet siblings, Tracy Strauss and Barbara Strauss. She played the dual personality of Jessica Sanders, although this was actually named for a different character altogether who was portrayed by a different actress altogether.
- Although Niki Sanders resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, she was actually born in California.
