Mary Morris was a British film and television actress who was born on the Fiji Islands on December 13th, 1915. Acting since the age of ten, Morris received her formal theatrical training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In the realms of science fiction, Mary is best known for playing the role of biophysicist Madeleine Dawnay in the 1961 BBC series A for Andromeda and its 1962 sequel, The Andromeda Breakthrough. Mary appeared in four episodes of A for Andromeda and all six episodes of The Andromeda Breakthrough. In 1982, she played the role of Panna in the "Kinda" story-arc from Doctor Who. Mary Morris passed away from heart failure in Switzerland on October 14th, 1988 at the age of 72.
