Julie Christie was born at her family's tea plantation in Chabua, Assam India on April 14th, 1941. Her first genre work was as the character of Christine in the short-lived 1961 British sci-fi series A for Andromeda. Although she made a brief appearance as Andromeda on the 1962 sequel series, The Andromeda Breakthrough, Christie was unable to reprise the character full time and the part went to Susan Hampshire. Following A for Andromeda, Christie's next major sci-fi role was that of Linda Montag, wife of Guy Montag from the 1966 adaptation of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.
