Invaders from Mars is an American science fiction feature film of the alien invasion subgenre. It is notable for its ambiguous narrative in that it is never made clear to the viewer whether the events of the film are actually taking place, or if they are merely the byproducts of a child's dreamscape. The film was directed by William Cameron Menzies with a script written by Richard Blake. It was produced by Edward L. Alperson Productions and released theatrically in the United States on April 22nd, 1953. The film stars Helena Carter as Pat Blake, Arthur Franz as Stuart Kelston, Jimmy Hunt as David MacLean, Leif Erickson as George MacLean, and Hillary Brooke as Mary MacLean.
