Gor-Kill is a fictional monster and a one-time antagonist featured in comic books published by Atlas Comics. He appeared in Tales of Suspense #12 in November, 1960.

Biography[]

Gor-Kill was a disembodied entity, possibly of alien origin. He was a formless mixture of gas and mist that washed over a small coastal town, crashing through the Krakow Dam. When it came into contact with the water behind the dam, it grew into an immense water monster. It then set to attacking the nearby village. Many of the villagers thought that the beast was a physical entity and named it Gor-Kill after an old legend.

A drifter named Hans Grubnik realized that the monster was the water, and begged his fellow townspeople not to let the creature make it to the ocean where is could eventually destroy the world due to the amount of water it could absorb. Disbelieving, the villagers were just happy to see Gor-Kill not ransack their town. Grubnik stole a round of dynamite and planted it in a valley and as Gor-Kill stepped over it, Hans set the explosives off. Gor-Kill was dispersed into droplets of water, which were absorbed by the soil.

Abilities[]

  • Bio-conversion: Gor-Kill could transform from his natural gaseous state into a creature composed completely of water.
  • Hydrokinesis: Gor-Kill could absorb moisture from the environment into his being, and then project his own physicality as dangerous columns or walls of water.
