George Hosato Takei is an American film and television actor of Japanese descent. He was born in Los Angeles, California on April 20th, 1937. George Takei is best known for playing the role of Hikaru Sulu, former helmsman and later a starship captain in the original Star Trek television series and the first six Star Trek films. Like most of his Star Trek colleagues, George Takei first worked in the sci-fi genre in the 1959-1964 anthology series The Twilight Zone. He appeared in the season 5 episode "The Encounter", playing a character named Arthur Takamuri.
