Forest Whitaker is an American film and television actor born in Longview, Texas on July 15th, 1961. In addition to his work in front of the camera, Forest has also worked as a producer, director, screenwriter and consulting producer. His first work in the science fiction genre was playing a soldier named Major Collins in the 1993 film Body Snatchers.

In 1995, Forest was one of the main cast members in the sci-fi/horror film Species, directed by Roger Donaldson. He played an empath named Dan Smithson. His next sci-fi work took place the following year when he played Nate Pope in the drama film Phenomenon in 1996.

Unfortunately, the sci-fi movie that Whitaker is probably best known for is one that has been universally panned by both critics and viewers; 2000's Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000. Here he teamed up with Phenomenon star John Travolta to play an alien character named Ker.

From 2002 to 2003, Forest turned his sights back to the small screen and became the host and narrator for resurrected anthology series The Twilight Zone. He worked on all forty-four episodes of the series and was also a consulting producer on episode 1.28, "Rewind", as well as the series finale, "Burned".
