Proinsias Cassidy, most commonly known as just Cassidy, is a fictional vampire and one of the main characters from the Preacher comic book series published by Vertigo, an imprint of DC Comics. The character was created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon, first appearing in Preacher #1 in April, 1995, and last appearing in The Boys #27 in February, 2009. The character also appeared on the Preacher television series on AMC where he was played by actor Joseph Gilgun.
