  • The film was inspired by the Battle of Los Angeles, a suspected air raid in the city of Los Angeles, which allegedly occurred in February, 1942, three months after the United States entered World War II.
  • Actor Aaron Eckhart broke his upper arm during shooting of the film, but was able to complete his scenes without the use of a cast.
