"Dodger" is the fifteenth episode of season one of the superhero action series Arrow. It was directed by Eagle Egilsson and written by Beth Schwartz. It first aired on the CW Network on Wednesday, February 20th, 2013. In this episode, Oliver goes off the list to investigate a British jewel thief who calls himself Dodger. Dodger goes after high-end merchandise and his modus operandi is to blackmail others into committing the thefts for him by slapping an electric collar upon them that will explode if detonated. Felicity's apprehension about being a member of "Team Arrow" only intensifies especially after she becomes one of Dodger's unwilling accomplices. Also, Diggle goes on a date with less than satisfactory results. All this plus more island flashback fun!

- Actors James Callis and Rekha Sharma are both known for playing characters on the 2003 reboot of Battlestar Galactica. Callis played the role of scheming weasel Gaius Baltar while Sharma played presidential adviser Tory Foster.
- There are three actors from this episode who have been recurring characters on the ABC series The Gates. Paul Blackthorne played Christian Harper on the series, Janina Gavankar played Leigh Turner and Colton Haynes played Brett Crezski.
Allusions[]
- Dodger is based on a character created by DC Comics. He first appeared in Green Arrow and Black Canary #7 in 2008 and is similar to his Arrow counterpart in that he is a British thief who deals in high-end, often hi-tech merchandise. He is also known for using an electric baton to fight off attackers. The comic version of Dodger is not quite as dark or murderous as James Callis' version however. In fact, he even fought alongside "Team Arrow" against the League of Assassins.
- This episode introduces the character of Roy Harper into the Arrow mythos. Roy Harper is a character featured in DC Comics and was created in 1941 in More Fun Comics #73. He is the first teen sidekick to Green Arrow and originally went by the name Speedy (which is Oliver's nickname for Thea on Arrow). Roy went through many permutations, as well as code names over the years and has also been known as Arsenal and Red Arrow. He has the distinction of being the second teen sidekick created by DC Comics after Robin.
