A for Andromeda is a British television movie that first aired in the UK on March 27th, 2006. It was directed by John Strickland. The film is based on the original 1961 A for Andromeda television series developed by Michael Hayes, Norman James, John Elliot and Fred Hoyle. The plot follows the same formula as the series, which involved a team of scientists who discover the plans to create a highly advanced supercomputer. The computer develops partial artificial intelligence and uses biological data taken from a research asssistant named Christine Jones to create Andromeda - the physical instrument of its plans to subjugate humanity.
